Which exchange rate does Western Union apply?

Western Union calculates its own exchange rate and it differs from the rates used in banks and other financial institutions

Payment is made at the rate of Western Union at the time of remittance. TENFORE Payment institution has no influence on the formation of this exchange rate.

If the sender emphasizes when sending money that he wants a specific amount to be paid to the recipient (fixes the amount to be paid), in that way he protects himself from possible exchange rate changes, as well as the payment to be less or higher than the expected amount. If the sender does not fix the amount to be paid, Western Union applies the exchange rate that is valid at the time of payment and which changes several times during the day. In this case, there is a possibility that the amount to be paid differs from the amount stated on the sender's „to send money form“.
